Transport
IndII’s transport activities currently focus on the sea, rail, air, and road transport sectors. IndII is now working closely with the Directorate General of Sea Transport (DGST) at the Ministry of Transport (MoT) to develop the National Ports Master Plan (NPMP) that will lay the regulatory and institutional foundation for port sector and network development over the next 20 years. Similarly, IndII is working with the Directorate General of Railways (DGR) to develop the National Railways Master Plan (NRMP), and to address a range of policy and project-related issues within the context of the ongoing Railway Revitalisation Initiative. In the air transport sector, IndII is working with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in developing an open sky policy and an Air Traffic Management Master Plan (ATMMP). In the road sector, IndII is delivering assistance to the Directorate General of Highways (DGH) within the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) in three key areas: road safety, improved planning and execution of road maintenance for sub-national roads and a linked programme of support to initiate Medium Term Expenditure Framework-Performance Based Budgeting (MTEF-PBB) in DGH. IndII is also currently developing new transport programmes in urban transit, initial support for airport development in Bali and the Railways Asset Separation.
